Dubai - Dubai Mall, Joe's Crab Shack

Hello, everyone.

So, the other day I was craving for crabs. Now I do not have the courage of picking the live crabs from the Fish Market and steaming them, so I decided to take the alternative, Joe's Crab Shack.

My short honest review of this place:

Good juicy crab meat. Bit loud as tourists come and go. Open seating so you might feel as if you're the fish.

Joe's Crab Shack has two locations, one in Festival City and the other in Dubai Mall. Since we live right near Dubai Mall, we were considering delivery as they had the option from the Entertainer app, but then changed our minds as a good walk after the meal sounded good.

 

Dubai Mall is huge, but you really can't miss Joe's Crab Shack. It is located right next to the aquarium. If you want exact locations, then I suggest you download the Dubai Mall app, which I find really convenient to use, and it will show you exactly how to navigate your way inside the mall like a pro. If you do not feel like downloading the app, then when you find the aquarium, walk to the right side of it and you will see an escalator, take it and it will be right in front of you.

When you think about it, it is located in a rather odd position, as you face the aquarium whilst eating the fish... but when seated this thought barely passes your mind. Rather, this is a comfortable place to see the aquarium without too many tourists.

Now that we are seated, the waiter comes and kindly tells us his name alongside the menu.

As a frequent customer, I usually get either the Crab Buckets or the Steampots. The difference is whether you'd want all crab - the former; but if you'd like less crab and add some shrimps and mussels - the latter. I usually go for their Crab Buckets steamed flavour as I prefer originals over Cajun sauce.

After waiting for some time, the food came. YES! We both were quite famished and were ready to dig in. But, since it has been some time, we forgot how to use these tools and SOS-ed our waiter. He was very kind and helpful and we managed to savour each piece without losing any meat.

Look how juicy they look. They are delightful.

After some finger-licking, we then saw the view again and it was as peaceful as it could ever be.

Luckily, you do not have to walk around smelling all fish, as they have a sink where you can wash your hand cleanly and thoroughly.

 

I would recommend this place for those with/without the Entertainer app, seafood-lover, and who wants to eat and shop at the same time!
